This is a good place to start on defining a Christ-like life.  Authentic love is an element in both a Christian nature and a Christian’s actions or lifestyle.  ’Agape’ love seeks the best interests of the other, not oneself, without regard for the other’s qualities.  Anyone who claims to be a Christian but is not loving cannot be an authentic Christian.  Acting in a loving spirit toward fellow human beings gives credence to a claim of love for God.  Thus, authentic Christians can be identified through the objective evidence of the character of their life. Atheists cannot fulfill what Christ defined as love, because they deny the existence of God.  Jesus put top priority on an extraordinary love of God encompassing an individual’s whole being.  Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment" (Matthew 22:37-38).  Loving God is manifested in obedience to His commands.  We can only love God because He has first loved us. The second love command was to, "Love your neighbor as yourself" (verse 39). Such love is even to be extended to our enemies.  Furthermore, Christians to love fellow Christians just as Christ has loved us, even to the point of giving up our life for them (John 15:12-13).  Needless to say, Christians are not perfect and fall short of these ideals.  But God gives grace to those who persevere in serving Him as their life’s top priority. A Christian’s personal relationship with God and empowerment by the Holy make possible truly loving his/her neighbor.  I know that this has been true in my own personal experience. Mayonnaise is indeed something we can all share, although as Vaisnavas we should insist on making our own eggless version. Here is Kurma dasa’s recipe, from "Great Vegetarian Dishes":   250 ml  evaporated milk   250 ml  vegetable oil     2 ml  salt     5 ml  honey    80 ml  lemon juice     5 ml  mustard powder Place evaporated milk in a blender. While the blender is on, gradually add oil until the mixture slightly thickens. Add the salt, honey, lemon juice and mustard powder. Continue blending until the mixture thickens further. Allow the mayonnaise to set for 10 minutes in the refrigerator. NOTE: When my wife Krsnarupa dasi prepares this, she also adds 5 ml of ground paprika. Best wishes, Ananda das
