    Question:

Ren? An honest and serious question for which I hope you will answer with honest answer. Is that really a picture of you on that site? Or, is that someone else’s photo?

    Eh? I’m not Kutulu.

    Response:

Actually Shez, We’ve all looked at your home pages and know exactly where you plagerized that book material. The material I post here isn’t my own knowledge but that which I’ve learned from the covens I’ve been a member of. I posted links on my myth page that points to some of the sources.

    Response:

Eh? This web page explains it all. I’m not that great of a mystery. I’m very predictable even. Yeah. :) http://members.tripod.com/ren1999/myself.htm

    Response:

Let’s see Shez or any of his other detractors do as good as this. Ren knows his stuff regardless of the trickster games he perpetrates.

I have known Ren for a long time, and I know his stuff is lifted from other posters far more capable than he is, Ren is not serious about anything, and rather than work hard and study he borrows, Most of those he borrows from just laugh . He is rather obvious, But I am always suprised when people actually believe him. :) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Yer Pal BirdTribe Some of you have mentioned to me that this is the time to talk about stress. So how does our version of Wicca deal with stress? A Wiccan is a holistic healer. We do many things to cope with the chaotic changes. What is stress? Stress is the result of any benevolent or malevolent event in our lives. We seek to create a stable environment, relationship, and occupation so that we may use that as a base to explore new possibilities. We thrive when experiencing stress in manageable amounts. Sleep regular hours. The first measure we take to combat stress is to sleep regular hours. Not to much and not to little sleep, rather the amount our bodies and minds want us to sleep. Going to bed around the same time and waking up around the same time is important. This is why we hate our first day back at work. Our sleep patterns have been interrupted. Diet. Don’t eat too much candy, drink too much coffee and smoke too many cigarettes. Too much sugar, salt, caffeine and nicotine in your system will destroy your ability to cope with stress. Ironically small amounts of coffee, such as one cup a day may help to alleviate stress. Limit your intake of candy and smokes. Don’t worry too much about what you exclude but rather what you include in your diet. Drinking water throughout your day helps you cope with stress. Eating fruit in the morning gives you freely earned energy. It will help. Eat at least one home cooked meal a day with some kind of grain, vegetable, bean, meat, or fish. Meat in small amounts may help you if you are not a vegetarian. Exercise. Exercise every day for about 30 minutes in front of the t.v. alternating between one day of  upper body workouts with a next day of lower body workouts. Take your week-end off to schedule some other away from home sport. During an anxiety attack where your body is pumping too much adrenaline, try doing rapid sit-ups. It helps. Exercise helps you convert the good food from your diet into something you can use. It also helps you get a good restful sleep. Meditation. Not what you think. Meditation in this case means. Writing down some of your short-term life goals and long-term life goals and working a little closer to meeting them every day. This will give you purpose in life. It’s important. Don’t worry about that which you can’t control. You can’t control death. You can’t control when people die. Accept the fact that we are mortal and could become slabs of meat on a stainless steal plate at any time. Love may not last forever. After 4 years, it’s quite possible that your passion has become a habit.  Being Wiccan means coming to terms with the ugly side of nature as well as the beautiful. We are not in denial. Face the monsters in your world and cope. Learn to drop the fantasy and accept what is real and potential. Then work to make your life more like they way you fantasize it to be only remember the reality can insert itself at any time. Do not rely on others or things to maintain your happiness. Only you can make yourself happy. Keep your own self esteem high and love yourself. If you can’t love yourself then you don’t make allowances for anyone else to love you. The Coven Teaches that we need these things in order of importance. We need to breate fresh air. We need fresh water. We need whole foods. We need to sleep and dream. We need shelter to keep warm or cool. We need to love and feel useful. We need to understand and be understood. We need to achieve our goals and evolve. Consider which of these things you aren’t getting in your life and get it. If you don’t understand, then set some time aside to read some non-fiction every day. If you don’t feel useful, volunteer for community service helping those who need it. If you are bored and don’t have anything to do, then get a hobby and make some progress engaging in it. Eat right, sleep right, drink enough water, and  do the right thing. Be true to yourself. If none of that works over a long period of time, see a doctor.

BT, I’m responding to you — but +ren+, I hope you read this, too. My objections to ren are not based on any supposed lack of knowledge. I just can’t get around several aspects of the "persona," including: 1: Multiple people posting with one "voice." This lends an air of near schitzophrenia. 2: Lies, half lies, and unprovable assertions. This makes ALL of the words suspect, as one never knows if ren’s being serious, or not. I like ren, I really do. Yeah, I’ve gotten pissed at "him" more than once — for the which I apologise, ren, or at least for getting nasty the last time I got pissed. Maybe there’s just too much "greyface" in my nature, or maybe ren’s style and mine just don’t "gee-haw." Ren, one thing that you might want to consider. Some of your posts seem to be oriented towards getting people angry enough to think — if this is your goal, then I have to question the effectiveness of your methods. Some of us already think, without the stimulation of anger. Some of us, unfortunately, do not think beyond anything but surface appearance and trivialities. <shrug And some on this group probably think you’re a twit, and I’m a boor. "Stimulation by anger" is a tricky technique. I’ve never seen it work — except by accident, as it were — except in person to person contact, where you have a greater ability to gauge the crisis points. Perhaps investigating another way might be in order? Taliesin of Earthstar Courtesy is owed..Respect is earned..Love is given.

Excellent and useful advice, Ren. Sometimes it’s useful to see the stuff we know (on some level) spelled out — it’s easy to forget/overlook the simple things. Thanks!

Ren, thank you for this great post…It’s so easy to sometimes overlook the bare essentials that we’re supposed to be providing ourselves with…I needed that reminder! ;) Blessings, Xiola – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Some of you have mentioned to me that this is the time to talk about stress.
