Wicca Wiccan

Now there IS an interesting thought. The call for moderators has been going on for the last week now.  I posted an URL for the planning forum for alt.religion.wicca.moderated earlier last week. For any that missed it, its: http://server.com/WebApps/discussion.cgi?unique=1438225 I’ll be reposting it again soon. If RBB would like to be one of the moderators for the new group, she has simply to post a note on the message board.  That goes for anyone else who would like to as well.  Remeber, moderating a newsgroup is a serious responsibility that takes work and *time*. namaste, Shiva – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Personally.. A religion such as Wicca that can’t take criticism from opponents such as Raven BlackBane, is not a religion that is confident and secure.  That religion is doomed. You as a follower of that religion are doomed.

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I’ve noticed that many of the discussions on alt.religion.wicca center around Wiccan ethics and Wiccan structures of morality.  Unfortunately, many flaming posts, hateful posts, and completely off-topic posts manage to worm their way in. I’m proposing that a new newsgroup be created: alt.religion.wicca.ethics This newsgroup would be a place for Wiccans (and like minded Pagans) to discuss this particular aspect of our theology.  I’m posting this message to get a few opinions. 1.  Is there need for a newsgroup specifically for this subject? 2.  If so, would it be more beneficial to have a moderated group? 3.  Does anyone have any other suggestions about split-off groups? 4.  How do people feel about this news group the way it is now (number of posts, message content, etc.)? Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Please respond to sender as well as group.  The responses recieved will be placed in a special file used to justify the newgroup.  If you would rather your reply not be logged in this file, please mention that in your reply. 1. I don’t think that a new newsgroup is nessesary. The ammount of posts on ARW is not really /that/ high if one ignores/killfiles the troll posts. 2. If a new group is created, moderation might be nice to kill the trolls, but I, for one, wouldn’t want to be the moderator. 3. Nope 4. I think that it may be nice to have a newsgroup that civilized discussion can be held on.  I am all for the new group.  I think that some people in this NG need to grow up and for those that wish to seek answers to there questions, and provide help to others should have there own group aurora

Got no problem with criticism.  But I did draw the line when Timmy, et al. decided to tell newbies to commit suicide.  Truly more rubbish from Ren…  That religion is doomed. You as a follower of that religion are doomed.
